Group counseling is a type of therapy that involves one or more counselors working with several people at the same time. Typically the group is formed around a common concern such as: grief, depression, anger management, or addiction recovery such as sex, drugs and alcohol.

This type of therapy is growing in popularity because it is typically cheaper and offers some benefits such as support and accountability that cannot be achieved through individual counseling. The groups offered by Waterstone Counseling Center focus on a variety of different issues including:

  • Anger management
  • Sexual addiction
  • Spouses of sex addicts

Many people worry that they will be “put on the spot” or forced to reveal their deepest secrets and shame at the first group meeting. We assure you that what and how much you share at group is entirely up to you, but your group leader will encourage you to be as honest and vulnerable as possible to ensure that you get the most of the group experience.

We offer several groups that meet one time a week at our Northwest Arkansas office conveniently located off I-540 in Springdale. Please contact us today if you are interested in joining a therapy group or learning more information about group counseling.
